Mark Bonar is a Licensed Home Inspector with the WV State Fire Commission, office of the State Fire Marshal who operates Mountain State Inspections LLC, formally Ohio Valley Home Inspections Ltd. Co., established in 1994. With over 5300 home & radon inspections completed in West Virginia and Ohio. Mark’s held membership in many organizations’ including, American Society of Home Inspectors, Member from 1999 through 2010. ASHI Inspectors met the rigorous requirements to be a provider of The ASHI Experience, a professional home inspection that combines the highest technical skills with superior customer service. Mark was a Charter member of the West Virginia Association of Home Inspectors and was instrumental in the start up of the organization. He is also a past Vice President of the West Virginia Association of Home Inspectors. Former Licensed with the EPA”s National Radon Proficiency Program, administer until 1998, when the EPA privatized the organization. Membership in the National Radon Safety Board (“NRSB”). Mark is also recognized as a Speaker on “Residential Radon Issues, for over 19 years now. Been a National Radon Speakers Bureau listed with NEHA NRPP. He has given presentations in West Virginia at local realtor offices, and public speaking seminars, and many other organizations.
In addition to his 20+ years of experience in carrying out fee paid home inspections, he is licensed by the State Fire Marshall of West Virginia, and I have successfully passed the NHIE (National Home Inspector Exam) offered by the Exam Board of Professional Home Inspectors and the ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) National exam “A” and B”. Carries general liability insurance, as required by the State Fire Marshall of West Virginia, Annually I complete at least 16 hours of continuing education in order to improve my knowledge and skills in the various standards and services of Home Inspections. I am happy to offer verification of any of these facts to prospective clients.
I was born and raised in Wheeling, so I consider this region my home and my customers my neighbors. I’ve been a home inspector since 1994 and have performed over 5300 home and radon inspections in West Virginia and Ohio.
I’m dedicated to being the best in my profession by completing at least 16 hours of Continuing Education annually in order to improve my knowledge and skills in the various standards and services of home inspection. I’m also very active in the home inspection community, exchanging ideas and best practices with my fellow professionals, and educating the public about important issues that affect their properties.
